Guest Post: My Christmas Tree Tradition

This is Maggie from Maggie's Travel blog, and today I will be taking over Cayden's blog! Cayden and I are best friends, so we thought it would be fun to do a little blog switch for the day. I will be sharing my family's Christmas tree tradition.

Since before I was born my parents have always purchased a real tree to celebrate the Christmas holiday. Each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving, my parents, younger sister, and I travel to the Riverbluff Christmas Tree Farm to find the perfect tree. The farm contains acres of beautiful trees of all varieties, including spruces and firs. We take a saw and set off through the rows of trees, examining each potential candidate. My family tends to look for a fraser fir that is tall and mighty. We have always picked large trees, usually about nine feet tall! Once we find the tree we love, it gets cut down and brought back to the barn. It is there that the tree is shaken to get rid of loose needles, a hole is drilled for the stand, and it is then wrapped up and tied to the top of our vehicle. After getting the tree inside, it is time for the fun of decorating. My dad usually wraps the strands of brilliant white, red, and green lights around the thick tree while the rest of us bring out the several boxes of ornaments. The next couple hours are filled with Christmas music, laughter, and covering the entire tree with decorations. The whole experience ends with the star being perfectly placed at the tip of the tree. I look forward to this day every year and it is my favorite Christmas tradition!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Christmas tree tradition!
