1. Inspirational Quote
This quote is by Dr. Seuss and it is quoted in his book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". Dr. Seuss is a famous children's author is who known for his unique words and characters. He is well known around the country and almost every children probably was read one of his books in their life. He attended graduate school at Oxford University and went on from there to begin his career as a cartoonist. He later was recognized for his ability to write as well as draw and started to write books. He published his fist book in 1937. Dr. Seuss was married twice but never had any kids. Dr. Seuss would tell people to always be themselves and to have a bug imagination. He strived to wrote books that were different from other ones and he never wrote the same thing twice. He had a very creative brain. His five biggest achievements are five of his most famous books. Those are "The Cat in the Hat", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", "Green Eggs and Ham", "One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish", and "Horton Hears a Who!". All of these books are known and read around the world and he has received awards and recognition for all of them.
2. Holiday Traditions
I have already discussed on a previous post three things my family does over Christmas break. Those are: building gingerbread houses together, having a cookie bake, and going sledding. We have done these three things every year since I can remember and I enjoy them just as much every year!
My family has always had a fake tree for two reasons. The first is that I am allergic to real Christmas trees and having one in my house makes me sick. The second is that my parents both grew up with fake trees and did not want to change their traditions.
There was nothing I really really wanted this year for Christmas. I kind of just asked for the same things I always ask for. I asked for sweatshirts, leggings, shoes, and other clothing items. At this age, clothes are really the only thing I want. Finally, I want to share my best and worst holiday memories. My best holiday memory was the time I went to Florida for Christmas. Me and my family flew out on December 23rd and arrived in Christmas just in time to celebrate Christmas in a warm climate for a change. We got to celebrate with my grandma and aunt which is something we had never gotten to do. It was the best Christmas ever! My worst holiday memory is last Christmas. I was at basketball practice on the 22nd and it was our last one before break. There was 10 minutes left in practice and we started to scrimmage. I then dislocated my knee for the third time. It is so painful and causes me to be unable to walk for about two weeks. It was right before break which lead to me being stuck at home while my family and friends got to go out and do fun things. I hope this Christmas can be different.
Well, goodbye until next year! Have a very fun and safe holiday season :)
I love this quote & we have some of the same traditions!
